OVCAG Member Tutu's Chinese Earthquake Relief Opportunity

OVCAG member Tutu (Tu Tao) is from the area of China devastated by the recent earthquake. She is taking one of Linda Mau's ceramic classes at De Anza and several of us have gotten to know her there as well as at recent Guild meetings. We have an opportunity to participate in her effort to raise relief funds. The following excerpts are from an email Tutu sent to some of her ceramic friends:

"Julie Liao and her husband are the best friend couple of my husband and mine. We all came from the same capital city (Chengdu, Sichuan Province), around 90 KM away from the center of the earthquake. We still have families live back there. So far all our families are safe except my father-in-law, 91 years old, passed away the day after the earthquake. Thank you all for your concern and sympathies to the victims of this horrible natural disaster."

"These couple of days, we are thinking about what can we do and contribute to help those families who lost their loved ones or lost everything in the earthquake. Not everyone can work as a doctor or nurse to save lives in China, but we can make our own contribution towards saving lives, rebuilding the houses, and reconstructing the schools for millions of children in Sichuan, China. If everyone put a drop of water together, it could become an ocean!"

"Many thanks and best wishes," TuTu & Yuan, Sunny Zhang & Julie Liao
