Empty Bowls is a worldwide initiative by potters and ceramic artists to help the homeless and needy.  In Santa Clara County, local potters team up with the Community Service Agency of Los Altos and Mountain View and the "Alpha Omega" Project, a group of 12 churches that feeds, houses, and helps to rehabilitate a select group of homeless people. 

Potters generously create and donate the bowls for the event. The public attends, enjoys a delicious meal, and takes home a handmade ceramic soup bowl of their choosing.

A selection of ceramic artwork and functional pottery is also available for sale or auction.
