Gerry Wallace - Drawing and Painting on Pottery

Join ACGA member Gerry Wallace for a workshop on her wonderful painterly creations. She works with poured pocelain slabs to hand build whimsical teapots, houses and sculptures. She will talk about drawing and painting on pieces with clay pencils, glazes, and china paints. There will be time for hands-on experiences with poured slip, china painting and drawing. Gerry Wallace has been actively involved in ceramics for about ten years. Gerry has a BA and MA in Fine Art Practice from UC Berkeley, and taught art to teenagers at her studio for many years. She continues to learn and be excited about the possibilities and challenges of working with clay.
Bring a sketch pad, pencils and brushes, all materials will be provided including a glazed piece to experiment on. If you wish to use your own work bring an white ware piece with a clear glaze.
