For David Hendley, everything matters; every material, process, tool, and technique. In the pottery studio, every choice determines the look and feel of the finished work, and is an opportunity for the potter to incorporate his or her personality and spirit into the piece. For David Hendley, that means that whenever possible, he makes his own tools, formulates his own materials, and cultivates his own unique techniques.

David Hendley brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and practical skill in the use of the extruder to build a magnificent variety of handbuilt and combination pottery. In addition to constructing his own extruders and dies, David Hendley has become a nationally recognized and accomplished master of this often neglected tool in the potter's shop. David will explain and demonstrate a wide variety of extruder techniques to greatly enhance your use of even the simplest of dies and designs. We are grateful to have David Hendley bring his expertise to us in this comprehensive "hands-on" workshop that will include valuable information on both solely extruded and combination forms that are both functional and expressive.

This two-day "hands-on" workshop with David Hendley will include use of both commercial and handmade extruders with a wide variety of dies and techniques in the construction of both ornamental and utilitarian forms.

The workshop will be limited to 25 participants.
